Break down in Flagstaff leads to new friendships
I cannot say enough positive things about the service I received at Murphy's Towing & Truck Repair in Flagstaff, AZ. I am a solo female driver making my way across the country in a 40' school bus. Traveling alone already has its own challenges, but when you encounter mechanical problems finding services you can trust and the the cost of repairs can be daunting. From the moment I called and spoke to Michelle on the phone and rolled up to several mechanics ready to confirm my diagnosis and help, I knew I was in good hands. Not being familiar with the area, they allowed me to stay on the lot until my part could come in. Not only did they let me stay, but they offered to pick up lunch for me, they took me out around Flagstaff and showed me the area, and they even let me watch them in action. I gained a new level of respect for wrecker services and how dangerous that job can be as well as I never really thought about the ptsd or the stress that could accompany being on the scene of an accident or hauling in vehicles after a horrific accident.
By the time my part came in, I almost didn't want to leave. I was having such a great time getting to know everyone. Tyler did a great job on my repair. He let me watch and learn. He also went above and beyond the repair of the fan clutch and replaced my fuel filters and helped with a latch problem on the engine cover.
Thank you to the entire staff (Tyler, Summers, Michelle, Jason, Hillary, Joe, Alex, Chris, Desi, Collin, and Jeff) for making me feel safe, entertained, and well taken care of. Thank you to Michelle, Jason, and Jeff for participating in the Beautiful Strength project too. If I'm ever in the Flagstaff area again, I will seek them out for service or just to stop by and say hello.
